Nomination Papers Are Available Starting Saturday March 27th, For the June 12, 2021 Annual Town Election
 
To obtain Nomination Papers contact the Town Clerk to make arrangements since the Peru Town Hall is closed to the Public.
You will need to submit an “Intention to be Candidate” Form to the Town Clerk. The form may be printed from the Town of Peru’s website.  You may also request the form my calling or e-mailing the Town Clerk.
# 43 Certified Signatures Are Needed for A Candidate To Be On The Ballot .A Registered Voters’ List Is Available Upon Request
 
Deadline Dates:
Last Day to Obtain Nomination Papers Is Thursday April 22nd by 5:00 Pm And Must Be Submitted To The Town Clerk For Certification By Saturday April 24th by 5:00pm
 
The Following Offices Will Appear on The Ballot:
Planning Board 5-Yr. Term
Select Board- 3-Yr. Term  
Finance Committee - 3-Yr. Term
Town Clerk - 3-Yr. Term   
Board of Health - 3-Yr. Term  
Constable- 2-Yr. Term
Finance Committee-1-Yr.Term
 
With the new restrictions and difficulties arising as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have outlined some guidelines below to help candidates navigate the collection of signatures.
Obtaining signatures: What is allowed?
Multiple signature pages – Each signee, or family, may have their own individual nomination paper form.
Scheduling drop-off - Please give our office a call to schedule drop off of nomination papers so we can issue you a receipt.
 
 
Obtaining signatures: What is not allowed?
Electronic signatures. All signatures must be in wet ink.
Time Extensions. There are no extended deadlines approved by Massachusetts State for the obtaining of nomination signatures.
Reduction of Signatures. The number of signatures required remains the same.
