Town of Peru Police Chief Position

The Board of Selectmen are accepting applications for the Town of Peru Police Chief Position
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*work a minimum of 25 hours per week
*All administrative work such as LTC applications
*Eligible to receive CJIS access
*FCC License
*Budget Experience
*Scheduling
*Work on all shifts
*Conducting proactive, preventive and responsive patrol activities
*Conducting criminal, administrative and traffic investigations
*Comprehensive and thorough report writing
*Completing required documentation and computer tasks
Minimum Requirements
Successfully completed police recruit training or intermittent/reserve training as required by the Municipal Police Training Committee.
Have a current Massachusetts Driver’s license in good standing
Be eligible for an unrestricted License to Carry (LTC), MGL Chapter 140 sec 131
Pass a background investigation
Supervisory Experience
Preference may be given for current law enforcement experience
Preference may be given for Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field or Spanish or secondary language proficiency.
