Vote by mail/ Absentee Any mail-in ballot must be requested in writing by 5 p.m. on the 5th business day before the election. Your application can only be accepted if it has reached the Town Clerk office by the deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions

You do not need to show identification to register to vote. However, you are required to provide identification information on the form; either the last four digits of your social security number, your Massachusetts driver’s license number or Massachusetts State ID number. If you do not have that information when you register to vote you will be asked to show identification at the polls the first time that you vote in that location. The identification required at the polls must include the address at which you are registered. You may not register to vote on-line UNLESS you have a valid MA drivers license or State ID.

Town Meetings

The Town Meeting Warrant is developed by the Select Board and is generally composed of items, called Articles, brought forth by various Town departments and standing committees for consideration by Town Meeting. Individual citizens can add their own agenda items to Town Meeting through the statuary device called a Citizens' Petition.......... The Select Board pursuant to MGL Ch 39, §10 must insert articles into the Warrant .... To insert an article in the warrant for a Town Meeting, voters of the town must sign a written request. The written request of registered voters for the insertion of subjects in town meeting warrants shall not be valid unless the required number of registered voters not only sign their names but also state their residence, with street and number......... Completed forms should be submitted to the Select Board.
