Mass Health is expanding the opportunity for Medicare recipients

Effective March 2024, Mass Health is expanding the opportunity for Medicare recipients to benefit from having their Part B monthly premium paid by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts ($174.70 for most people).  In prior years, eligibility for this benefit was dependent on both income and asset limits.  

In 2024, Medicare Savings Program ( formerly referred to as the Part B By-In) will now be based solely on income limits and will no longer consider assets in determining eligibility.

The 2023 Medicare Savings Program income limits are as follows:  Single $2734 per month ($32,808 per year); Married Couple $3,398 per month ($44,376 per year).
