Solar Eclipse Gala Event

Come share the solar eclipse on the Peru Town Green on April 8 from 3:00 – 4:00pm as this is the best time to view this exciting astronomical event.  A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, casting a shadow on Earth that either fully or partially blocks the Sun’s light.  It’ll be a partial eclipse for the town but it should be impressive.

Bring a beach chair and your solar eclipse glasses.  The Library has purchased a number of solar eclipse glasses with lanyards for the children in town.  Bring the children to the Library on Wednesday from 1:00 – 7:00pm or Saturday from 9:00 – 1:00pm to pick theirs up.  Adults can buy solar eclipse glasses at Walmart (less than $2.00) and other stores.  You will damage your eyes by looking directly at an eclipse without this protection.  We’ll have aluminum foil available to make hats for even extra protection.  (The aluminum foil hat thing is a joke, don’t get alarmed!)

Hope to see everyone then!
